Won Ton
1 package wonton wrappers
1 pound of ground pork or chicken 1 can crabmeat 4 green onion stalks, sliced thinly 1 medium onion, finely chopped 4 to 6 cloves garlic 3-4 tablespoons sherry 3 T soy sauce 2 T sesame oil black pepper chopped ginger (optional)
Mix the filling ingredients together. The mixture should smell beautifully fragrant, if not, add a bit more soy/sesame oil.
Fill the wontons with generous teaspoons of the filling. The easiest way is just to fold them over into triangles. Use water to seal the edges.
They can be cooked in 2 ways - panfrying over medium-high heat until both sides are golden, or you can boil them in salted/gingered water.
I don't usually like sauce to go with them, but a really simple one is soy sauce with slices of fresh ginger in it.
