Found this recipe in a Woman's World magazine in the 1980's. It has become one of our favorite bean dishes for cookouts.

3/4 cup crushed gingersnaps
2 tablespoons onion, chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar or syrup
2-4 strips bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
2 (1 pound each) cans pork & beans
1/4 cup catsup

Mix all ingredients. Put in 1-1/2 qt. greased casserole. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

If you're looking for something to dress-up your standard baked beans recipe, give this a try. You're family and friends will rave about your new baked beans presentation. Of course, they'll want this recipe..but mum's the word...that's your secret. You'll find friends and family will ask you to make sure you bring those delicious beans to your next family gathering.. you won't be disappointed either way..Frankie
