Homemade Granola
Makes 14 cups

1 1/4 cups salad oil
1 cup honey
1 tablespoon vanilla
5 cups oats
1 cup pecan pieces
1 cup peanuts or almonds
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 cup instant nonfat dry milk
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup raisins
1 cup dates, chopped

In a sauce pan, combine oil, honey, and vanilla and warm until
blended. In a large mixing bowl, combine and mix together all the
remaining ingredients, except the raisins and dates. Add the
oil-honey mixture to the combined ingredients; mix well. Spread
evenly on cookie sheets with sides (this recipe will take 2 sheets),
and bake at 275 degrees F for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool, crumble the granola into small chunks, and add raisins and
dates; mix well. Store in airtight container; no refrigeration
needed.
