Southern-Style Brisket

1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup water
1-ounce envelope dry onion soup mix
4 to 5-pound beef brisket

Preheat the oven to 350:. In a medium-sized bowl, combine all the
ingredients except the brisket; mix well. Place the brisket in a
roasting pan that has been coated with nonstick cooking spray. Pour
the barbecue sauce mixture over the brisket and cover tightly with
aluminum foil. Bake for 3 to 3 1/2 hours, or until fork-tender.
Slice across the grain and serve with the sauce from the pan.

This was so easy to prepare and was a HUGE hit for a dinner party. Everyone raved about the sauce and how tender the meat was. I did add some of my own cut up onions to the sauce. Would highly recommend, definitely will make again and again.....................
