Buttermilk Old Fashioned Bread
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm buttermilk (70 - 80 degrees)
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
3 cups bread flour
4 teaspoons sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
Measure all ingredients into bread machine pan in order suggested
by manufacturer, adding baking soda with flour. Process on
basic/white bread cycle; use medium/normal crust color setting; do
not use timed-baked feature. Remove bread from pan; cool on wire
rack. Yield 1 loaf (11/2 lbs).
