Sage-Wheat Bread

1 POUND LOAF

1 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons shortening
1 1/3 cups whole wheat flour
2/3 cup bread flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon dried sage, crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon active dry yeast or bread machine yeast

1 1/2 POUND LOAF

1 1/3 cups milk
1 tablespoon shortening
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup bread flour
1/3 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon dried sage, crushed
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon active dry yeast or bread machine yeast

Add all of the ingredients to a bread machine according to the
manufacturer's directions. Bake the bread using the wheat, regular,
or white setting. Makes 1 loaf
