Fruity Girdle Scones

8 oz self-raising flour
A pinch of salt
1/2 level teaspoon grated nutmeg
2 oz butter
2 oz sugar
2 oz dried fruit
1 egg, beaten
Milk to mix

Mix the dry ingredients together and rub in the butter, then stir
in the sugar and the fruit. Mix with the egg and milk to a stiff
dough, then roll out to 1/2 " thick and cut into rounds or triangles.
Cook (moderately hot) till brown on both sides - 2x5 minutes.
