Bread Pudding

7 cups stale bread cut into chunks (Italian bread, cinnamon bread,
croissants, brioche)
2-2 1/4 cups milk, cream or half and half or a mixture
1 stick unsalted butter, melted
4 eggs lightly beaten
1-1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
raisins, about a handful
2 TBS. granulated sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

In a large bowl, mix milk, butter, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and
nutmeg, add eggs and blend well. Add the bread and mix well. Let
stand for about 30 minutes, patting down the bread occasionally.
Add the raisins. Pour into a buttered 9x12" baking dish. Sprinkle
the top with a mixture of 2 TBS. sugar and the cinnamon. Bake 350:
for 1 hour. Refrigerate any leftovers.
