Cherry Loaf

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup cherries, cut in half

Grease and flour 9x13 inch loaf pan.

Use some of the flour to coat the cherries before adding them to
your mixture. Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs.
Alternate dry ingredients and milk into your butter-egg mixture.
Add cherries. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 F for 45
minutes to 1 hour. Test for doneness by using toothpick poked into
center of loaf. Toothpick should come out dry.
