Fig Bread

3 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup ground dried figs

Sift flour, measure and sift 3 times with salt and baking powder.
Combine with brown sugar. Add milk and figs to egg, turn into dry
ingredients and stir until smooth. Pour into two loaf pans, and
bake1 hour in a slow oven, 325 degrees.
