Hush Puppies
2 c self-rising corn meal
1 c flour
2 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 tablespoon shortening or salad oil
1 egg
1 c buttermilk
Sift dry ingredients together. Add shortening, egg and buttermilk.
Mix well Bake in greased baking dish at 375 degrees F for 20 to 25
minutes.
