Prune Bread

1 12 oz package pitted prunes, coarsely chopped
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter/margarine softened
1 1/3 cups water
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 cup chopped walnuts

In large saucepan, combine prunes, sugar, butter/margarine, water
and vanilla. Bring to boil, remove from heat and stand for 30
minutes. Transfer to large bowl In medium sized bowl, combine dry
ingredients. Stir in prune mixture. Add walnuts, mixing ingredients
until well combined. Transfer to greased and floured 9x5 loaf pan.
Bake in 350 preheated oven for 2 hours 20 minutes
