Honey Scones

2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbs. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
6 Tbs butter or shortening
1/4 cup milk
2 Tbs honey
1 egg

Sift the dry ingredients. Cut in butter till crumbly. Mix the egg,
milk and honey. Stir into crumbly mixture. Knead briefly on floured
surface. Pat into a 9 inch circle, cut into wedges. Bake on greased
cookie sheet 400F 12 to 15 minutes or done. Then remove and brush
with more honey while hot.

These honey scones were very good. I pressed sliced almonds on top before baking, so the honey you brush on top after baking sticks to the almonds. Will make them again.
