Print this Recipe    English Muffin Bread

2 pkgs yeast
6 cups flour
1 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2 cups milk
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup water
cornmeal

Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and soda. Heat liquids
until very warm (120-130 F). Add to dry mixture, beat well. Stir
in rest of flour to make a stiff batter. Spoon into 2 loaf pans
that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover, let
rise in warm place for 45 minutess. Bake at 400 F for 25 minutes.
Remove from pans immediately and cool.

My favorite way to eat this bread is in thick slices lightly broiled
with lots of butter (or margarine) and cinnamon-sugar mixture.
