OATMEAL BREAD

1 cup quick oats
3 Tbsp. shortening
1 Tbsp. salt
3 Tbsp. molasses
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups boiling water
1 pkg. yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 cup lukewarm water
6 cups flour

Pour the boiling water over the quick oats, shortening, salt,
molasses and 1/2 cup sugar. Let stand until lukewarm. Dissolve
yeast and sugar in 1/2 cup lukewarm water and add to oat mixture.
Add flour and knead until firm. Let stand until double in size.
Form into 2 loaves and let rise again until double in size. Bake
at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
