Pan de Sal (Bread Roll)

1 tablespoon yeast
2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
4 cups bread flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon shortening (oil or margarine)
bread crumbs

Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, shortening, salt and flour.
Knead until fine in texture.Put in a bowl and cover. Let rise in
a warm oven or any warm place for about an hour.

Punch dough to remove air. Shape dough into a long roll and cut
into 2" slices.

Grease baking sheets w/ margarine and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Arrange pan de sal cut side up and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Let rise again until each cut has doubled its size.Bake at 400
degrees F (pre-heated oven) until golden brown. Serve warm.
