Twice Rise Rolls 5 c flour 3/4 c water 3/4 c milk 1/2 c sugar 1 tsp salt 5 tsp active dry yeast 2 eggs 1/2 c butter
Place 4 1/2 to 5 cups of flour in a large plastic tupperware bowl. Heat milk, water, sugar and salt just to warm! Add the eggs and yeast to this mixture and stir well. Make a well in the flour. And pour this into the well. Do not stir. Cover with lid and let set for 20-30 minutes.
Melt the 1/2 cup of butter and pour into the bowl with the flour and stir well. Add more flour if too sticky. Place the dough on a floured board and knead lightly. Then put this back into the bowl. Cover and let rise 20-30 minutes. Shape the dough into rolls. Let rise again for 20-30 minutes. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown. This also makes a good base for cinnamon rolls.
