BREAD DESSERT (Rabananda)
4 dozen

3 quarts milk
1 cup honey
2-3 cinnamon sticks
grated peel of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
2 loaves French bread
oil (for frying)
12 eggs, beaten
cinnamon sugar

Combine milk, honey, cinnamon sticks, lemon peel, salt, and sugar
in large saucepan. Simmer for 1 hour. Remove from heat. Cut bread
in 1/2 inch slices. Heat oil in skillet. Dip bread first in milk
and honey mixture and then in eggs. Fry in oil until light brown.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Serve cold.
