French Toast

2 eggs
2 slices day old bread
2 Tbsp milk
softened cream cheese either flavored or plain
pinch cinnamon
favorite jam, preserves or topping
drop vanilla (if desired)
powdered sugar (optional)

In a bowl mix eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla. Take one slice
of day old bread and spread softened cream cheese all the way to
the edge. Take second slice of day old bread and spread whatever
is currently available in the house: strawberry preserves, orange
marmalade, apricot jam, grape jelly, or apple butter and spread it
all the way to the edge. Put 2 slices of bread together to make
a sandwich. Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture, coating, and
then fry until a golden brown. Sprinkle sandwich lightly with
powdered sugar. Place sandwich upon a plate and plate upon a tray
containing the following items: fresh coffee, fresh juice, linen
napkin, and small vase with a rose in it.

Variation: skip the coffee and juice and replace with two glasses
of champagne...DO NOT forget the flower! Serve immediately to your
hopefully still sleeping lover, awakening with a kiss...be sure to
include two forks so that you may feed each other. Hint: you may
want to try this before adding syrup...as it is very sweet.
