FRENCH TOAST WITH STRAWBERRIES

6 tablespoon Modena balsamic vinegar
6 thick slices of brioche bread
1/2 lb strawberries
2/3 cup confectioners\x92 sugar
1/4 lb butter
2/3 cup milk
2 eggs

Heat the milk and add 1/3 cup of sugar. Stir to dissolve. Beat the
eggs together well. Dip the slices of bread quickly in the milk
and then in the egg mixture. Drain off the excess liquid, melt the
butter in a skillet and brown the slices on both sides. Remove them
and put to one side.

In the same skillet, caramelize the remaining sugar and add the
strawberries, cut into thin slices. Coat them with the sugar and
remove immediately.

Cover the slices of bread with the strawberries. Deglaze the
strawberry juice and sugar with the vinegar. Reduce the liquid,
then pour over the strawberries and serve.
