Hand Me Down Chocolate Cake
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 cups water
1 3/4 cups flour
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla;
beat one minute at medium speed. Combine flour, baking soda and
salt; add alternately with water to creamed mixture. Pour batter
into two greased and floured 8" pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Cool. Frost with chocolate
frosting.
