Red Velvet Cake

1/2 cup Crisco
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 oz. red food coloring
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 teaspoons salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda
1 tablespoon

1 cup milk
3 tablespoons flour
1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar

Cream together Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, cocoa, vanilla, and
red food coloring. Sift together flour and salt. Mix buttermilk
with first mixture. Beat well. Fold in soda and vinegar. Bake
at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

For Icing, cook together milk and flour; cool. Cream butter and
sugar. Add to milk and flour mixture and beat.
