Apple Skillet Cake:
1 1/2 cups flour (plain)
1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda (not baking powder)
2 peeled and diced apples
1 cup pecans
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla flavoring
Combine all the dry ingredients. Then stir in the apples and nuts.
The dry mix will stick to the apples and nuts and keep them from
sinking to the bottom. Then mix up the wet ingredients and stir
them in with the dry mix.
Grease a 10 inch cast iron skillet. Pour the mix in and shake until
even. Bake at 350 F for 40 to 50 minutes.
You can make Apple Skillet Cake in a regular square cake pan. Add
about 10 minutes to the cooking time.
