Caramel Cake
1/4 lb butter 1 teacup sugar 1 beaten egg 1 1/2 cups flour 1 Tbs golden syrup 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup milk 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp cocoa 1 tsp cinnamon
Cream butter and sugar, add egg, warm milk and golden syrup when hot add soda and beat into butter. Sift in flour and baking powder. Pour half the mixture into a greased tin, add cocoa and cinnamon to remaining half and pour into tin on top of other mixture. Bake 3/4 hour. Ice with chocolate icing.
