COFFEE CAKE

1/2 cup shortening
3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
8-ounce container sour cream
7 tablespoons margarine, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup nuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease tube pan well; dust with a
little flour. Cream together shortening, eggs, and sugar. Add
baking soda, baking powder, and vanilla. Add flour and sour cream,
alternating. Set aside. Combine margarine, brown sugar, cinnamon,
and nuts. Mix until crumbly. Put mixture in prepared tube pan in
halves, starting with batter and ending with topping. Bake for 45
to 55 minutes.
