DATE NUT ROLL

1 c. flour, unsifted
3 eggs
1 c. dates, chopped
3/4 c. nuts
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. allspice

Combine chopped dates, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 cup water and 1/2 teaspoon
salt. Cook 4 minutes. Set aside to cool. Beat eggs 5 minutes on
high. Add 1/2 cup sugar to eggs.

Sift flour, baking powder and allspice. Add to egg mixture. Next,
add cooked and cooled date to mixture to egg batter. Pour into
jelly roll pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Turn onto towel sprinkled with powdered sugar. Roll up and cool.


Filling

2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
4 Tbsp. oleo
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. confectioners sugar

Cream all ingredients until smooth. Spread on unrolled cake and
reroll.

1.Directions don't indicate when to add nuts. 2. Do you drain the dates before adding to the flour/egg mixture or add dates and water they were cooked in. 3. Receipt doesn't indicate any salt,water, or powdered sugar as part of the ingredients. 4. How big of a jelly roll pan is to be used?
