New Orleans Fruit Cake

2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 lbs. pecans
2 tsps. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 pound candied pineapple
1 pound cherries
1 pound dates

Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla until frothy; Coat fruits with flour
mixture (flour and baking powder). Add egg mixture. Line 2 loaf
pans with wax paper and dump 1/2 mixture in each pan. Bake in a
preheated 300 degree oven for 1 hour.
