MORAVIAN GINGERBREAD:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 cups dark molasses
3 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup hot water
1 Tbs. baking soda
3 beaten eggs

In a large bowl: Cream butter and sugar together. Add molasses and
blend. In separate bowl: Sift together flour, spices and salt.

In separate bowl: Combine soda and hot water. Add dry ingredients
to butter mixture alternately with the hot water mixture. Add
beaten eggs. Place in a greased and floured pan 8" x 12" and bake
at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
