Gingerbread

3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
1 cup shortening, melted
1 teaspoon cloves, ground
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 tablespoons hot water
2 cups flour
1 cup boiling water

Blend eggs, sugar and molasses, add melted shortening and spices.
Beat till smooth. Dissolve soda in 2 Tbsp of hot water and stir
in, sift flour into mixture, beat well. Add boiling water, beat
again. Batter will be very thin. Pour into well greased 13 x 9"
pan.

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes

While cake is still hot sprinkle with lots of sugar.
