Lemon Tea Cake
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 lemon, grated rind and juice
1/2 cup sugar
Cream butter and 1 cup sugar. Add eggs and grated rind and beat
well. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with the milk. Bake
in well-greased loaf pan in 350 degree oven for an hour. Add lemon
juice to the half cup sugar and spoon over the hot cake as soon as
it's taken from the oven. Then remove from pan and cool on rack.
