I have searched for months for this easy recipe. It was in my old "Fannie Farmers'" cookbook that I lost and haven't replaced. This cake sounds too easy to make to taste so good! It has a spongy, springy texture and a milky taste, but I have added a teaspoon of lemon or orange juice and if you are an experienced baker you can make some variations using bananas, sour cream, whatever. This is a wonderful cake good enough for guests that you can whip up in minutes!
