Martha Washington's Pound Cake

(Original Recipe)

15 oz butter
1 pound sugar
1 pound flour, sifted 3 times
10 eggs, beaten separately
large wine glass whiskey
1 tablespoon baking powder


(Modern Recipe)

1 3/4 cups flour
2 1/3 cups sugar
4 cups flour
1/4 cup rum
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking powder

Mix and bake as for any cake. (Try 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325
degrees).

This recipe needs to be rewritten because it asks for flour twice I think there is a typo
