Panforte 300 gr. flour 300 gr. sugar 300 gr. water 25 gr. whole almonds 25 gr. crushed almonds 1 tablespoon cinnamon 1/2 nutmeg, grated 200 gr. dried orange in small pieces (in Italy these are called canditi) 200 gr. dried lime in small pieces But water to boil. Once it boils add sugar, almonds (both whole and crushed), nutmeg, and let boil for five minutes. Then add dried fruit, and let boil another five minutes. Then add slowly the flour while stirring, until it is well mixed, and you get a good dough.
Pour into a baking dish (preferably round). Before this, you must put an "ostia" in the dish (a thin layer of unleavened bread, like the one you get for Communion in church). After you have poured the dough, cover with powdered sugar. Before serving let cool, it must be at room temperature.
