Vanilla Butternut pound cake

2 sticks butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 eggs

3 cups flour
1 cup evaporated milk
10 oz jar or maraschino cherries cut in half
1 cup walnuts chopped
2 tablespoons vanilla butternut flavoring

Cream together butter, shortening, sugar and salt until light and
fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time beating after each addition.

Add the flour and milk alternating with the flour first and last.
Stir in the flavoring, cherries and nuts.

Put in a greased and floured bundt pan. Start in a COLD oven.
Bake for 1 hour and 45 min at 350 F.
