Easy Prune Cake
1 cup oil
3 eggs
1 Tbsp cake spice or 1 tsp. nutmeg, 1 tsp.cinnamon and 1 tsp. allspice
2 small jars baby food prunes
2 cups self-rising flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp soda
1/2 Tbsp Karo syrup
1/4 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp margarine
Mix sugar, oil and then add eggs. Sift flour and spices together
and add to mixture. Add prunes. Mix well. Drop in nuts and stir
well. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees
for 1 hour.
For glaze, boil sugar, soda, Karo, vanilla and margarine together
for 2 minutes. Pour over hot cake.
