Brown Sugar Squares
2 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 3/4 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoon corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoon butter
1 cup coconut
1 cup almonds
Boil sugar, syrup, and milk to soft ball stage (234 to 238 F).
Remove from fire. Add butter. Cool to room temperature. Beat
until thick and creamy. Add coconut, nuts, salt, and flavoring.
Pour into well-buttered, shallow pan. Cut in squares.
