German Hard Candy/taffy

Dissolve in pot of water (hot, but not quite boiling)

2 lbs granulated sugar
2 lbs brown sugar
1/4 lb. butter

add:

1 shot glass vinegar
1 cup water
2 tsp. vanilla

Boil until forms a ball in cold water. Pour into buttered pie
pans, don't make it too thick! Can make plain or with nuts or may
add 5-6 drops almond extract
