4 small boxes strawberry jello
1 cup grated coconut
1 cup Eagle Brand condensed milk
1 pkg. slivered almonds
1 jar red sugar
green food coloring

Mix jello, coconut and Eagle Brand milk together and refrigerate.
Next day make small round balls (approximately 1 teaspoon to a
ball) and shape in form of a strawberry (take ball between thumb
and next two fingers and squeeze to make strawberry; punch in top
a little). Roll in red sugar and place slivered almonds which have
been dyed green for the leaves.

I made these when I was young. I made a fruit bowl full of different fruit (use any flavor jello). Mold into the shape of that fruit. Use gum drops for the stems.

My mother used to make these! Oh how I loved them. But she called them marzipans. I actually had a real marzipan that I bought at World Market and they are not alike. Marzipans have a licorice taste and are quite horrid. You will need to use gloves or else your hands get stained red as I remember my mother's did! YUMMY!
