Peanut Butter Squares
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups cornflakes
1 cup rice Krispies
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. cream
1 1/2 cups icing (powdered) sugar
2 (1 oz) squares semi-sweet chocolate
Heat brown sugar and corn syrup to melt. Beat in peanut butter
and vanilla. Add cornflakes and Rice Krispies. Mix well and pat
into a well-buttered 8 x 8 pan.
Icing
Boil brown sugar, butter and cream for 3 minutes. Cool. Beat in
icing sugar.
until of a consistency to spread. Spread on first mixture. Melt
chocolate and spread on above.
