Toffee

1/2 pound butter, not margarine
1 cup white sugar
1 cup crushed almonds
6 Hershey bars
1 cup chopped pecans, optional

Cook butter, sugar and almonds to a dark tan. Stir constantly.
Pour onto a buttered cookie sheet. Immediately drop the candy bars
on top. Sprinkle with pecans. As the chocolate melts, smooth it
around as best you can. When cool, break in chunks.

I doubled the recipe and it worked out just fine. I used 2 large Hershey bars broke into pieces. I put them on the toffee right after pouring onto cookie sheet, waited a few minutes for them to melt then spread them out.
