Nut Crescent Cookies
1 cup softened butter 1/3 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 cup flour 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1 Tbsp. water Powdered sugar for dusting
Cream butter and sugar together. Add vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts. Add water to make a workable dough. Pinch off small balls of dough and roll in palms of hand until crescent shaped. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten slightly with fingertips. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from cookie sheet and allow to cool. Roll in powdered sugar to coat cookies.
Note: This recipe is very similar to a Mexican wedding ring cookie, as it is very short and flaky. Not as sweet as some cookies, but buttery!
