Ginger Snaps
2 cups sifted flour 2 tsp. ginger 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1/4 cup molasses granulated sugar for rolling
Sift together ginger, flour, soda, cinnamon, salt. Set aside. Cream together shortening, sugar, egg, and molasses. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture. Blend. Form dough into small balls (walnut size). Roll in sugar. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F for 12 - 15 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen
