COLOSSAL CANDIED COOKIE
1 cup candy-coated chocolate pieces (M&MS, Reece's Pieces, Holiday M&M's)
11/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
Reserve 1/3 cup of candies for decorating;coarsely chop remaining
candies with chopper; in 1 qt. bowl combine flour, baking soda and
salt, mix well; in 2 qt. bowl beat butter and sugars until creamy.
Add egg and vanilla, beat well. Add flour mixture,mix well. Stir
in mixed candies. Place dough in center of round baking stone>(13"
or 15"size). Using lightly floured service and dough roll out onto
pan. Decorate with rest of candy. Bake 16-18min. or until lightly
brown. Cool completely. Loosen cookie from pan with spatula or
serrated bread knife cut into wedges.
Note: For easy decorating fun use whipped cream in a can to decorate
around the edge or use the icing in a tube.
