PECAN SANDIES

1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. shortening (such as Crisco) 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. chopped pecans sugar
Cream butter and shortening. Gradually add sugar. Cream again. Sift dry ingredients together. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Chill 1/2 hour. Shape into 1" balls and place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Flatten balls to 1/3" thick with glass dipped in sugar.
Bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes.

I've had several requests for this recipe which is the real verdict, and I've only baked them once.
I had to bake them a little longer than specified in the recipe because they looked a little anemic.I also didn't flatten them and they looked nice.
