SNICKERDOODLES
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 3/4 cups sifted flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Gradually add sugar to shortening, beating well. Add eggs and
vanilla. Resift sifted flour, add cream of tartar, baking soda
and salt. Combine the flour mix with the shortening mix. Chill for
1/2 hour. Shape dough into walnut size balls and roll in mixture
of 2 Tbsp sugar plus 2 tsp cinnamon. Place on ungreased sheet 2"
apart, flatten slightly. Bake 400 F for 7-8 min
