Print this Recipe    Fudgy Bittersweet Brownies

3/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 squares chocolate, unsweetened
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
2 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped nuts, optional

Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Melt the chocolate and
margarine (or you can use butter) in a pot (not the small one) over
low heat. Remove from the heat and stir to blend. Beat in sugar
and eggs until well blended. Stir in vanilla. Stir in flour mixture
just until blended. Stir in the nuts. Spread in a greased 8X8 or
9X9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, or just until
a slight imprint remains when touched lightly in the center. DO
NOT OVERBAKE! Better to be slightly underdone than even a little
bit overdone.
