Date Nut Dream Squares
1 lb 2.25 oz. box yellow cake mix w/pudding in the mix
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1/2 c flour
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c water
1 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c chopped dates
1/2 c chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter with flour and 1 egg. Mix in yellow cake mix. Set
aside 1/2 cup for streusal. Press into 9"x13" greased pan. Bake
for 15 minutes.
Mix rest of ingredients from the other egg, to the brown sugar, to
the chopped dates and nuts. Pour over mixture in pan. Sprinkle
streusal over the date mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for an additional
30 minutes. Cool.
