Tropical Lemon-Lime Bars

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1/2 cup confectioners'sugar, plus extra for dusting
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup flaked coconut
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs

3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon fine-grated lemon zest
1 teaspoon fine-grated lime zest
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Confectioners' sugar for dusting

In mixing bowl, cream together butter and confectioners' sugar.
Mix in flour and coconut until blended. Press mixture evenly in
13-by-9-by-2-inch nonreactive baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees 18
to 20 minutes until edges are golden.

Meanwhile, in separate nonreactive bowl, beat granulated sugar,
eggs, lemon and limejuices, zests, and salt until well combined.
Sift in flour and baking powder and mix until well incorporated.

When pastry is baked, pour egg mixture over top. Bake about 25
minutes more. After pastry is cooled, lightly dust with
confectioners' sugar. Cut into 32 squares. Makes 32 cookies.
