Brownies
2 sticks margarine 2 cups granulated sugar 4 eggs 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder 2 teaspoons vanilla 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup dried apples, chopped 1/2 cup Irish whiskey 1/4 teaspoon green food coloring
Put the chopped apples into a bowl and cover with whiskey to which a few drops of green food coloring have been added. Allow to soak for about 20 minutes while making the rest of the preparations. Melt butter in a bowl large enough to mix the batter in. Add the sugar, eggs, cocoa, food coloring, and vanilla.
Combine the flour and baking powder, then stir them into the chocolate. Drain the apples and stir them into the batter.
Spread the batter in a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out barely moist. Cool in pan, cut into squares and serve.
