Stuffed Brownies

8 oz. cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon almond extract

2 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate
1/2 cup butter

2 eggs
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cream in a medium bowl the cream cheese, sugar, egg and almond
extract. Set aside. Melt in a small sauce pan over low heat
chocolate, and butter. Stir occationally.

While melting the chocolate cream together eggs, sugar, flour,
baking powder and salt in a medium bowl.

Then when the chocolate is melted, add to the above mixture. Mix
well. In a greased 8 inch by 8 inch pan add half of the chocolate
batter. Slowly add the cream cheese mixture in a layer over the
batter in the pan. Spread as evenly a possible, though do not mix
into the chocolate batter below. Top with the remainder of the
chocolate batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or till
a tooth pick comes out clean (check at 35 minutes). Ice if desired.
Cut when cool.

I did not think it was possible to make a rich brownie -- MORE rich. I was wrong !!! This is a keeper for sure.
